I’ve started this GoFundMe, along with co-organizer Philip Fleet, to raise $3,600 so that Toni, who lives on disability income, can get a used car which she desperately needs. Toni’s 2000 Toyota Corolla (with 160,000+ miles on it) was totaled in an accident more than a year ago, and since then she’s been forced to rely on Uber, Lyft and Senior Taxi. Sadly, although discrimination against people with service animals isn’t legal, many drivers pull up and see Bud (a yellow Labrador Retriever) and drive off, leaving Toni and Bud stranded.
In order to continue the good work they do in the world, they really need a car. If you, or a friend or family member, is disabled, you know how important it is to have someone who understands shine a light on their situation and advocate for them. I’m hoping that together we can raise the $3,600 that will empower Toni to continue her advocacy for others with disabilities.
If you’d like more information about Toni and Bud and the wonderful work they do, here’s a link to an article about them: http://athomeinalexandria.org/cms/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/AHA-Newsletter-July-2019.pdf
Please donate what you can to help Toni and Bud the Wonder Dog continue helping others.
And please Share with your own caring networks if you're comfortable doing so. Thank you!
