Support our trans compa in Richmond!

Donation protected
To our families and communities--We are asking your help in welcoming a trans migrant compañera who will be living with us in Richmond for the months or years it might take to process her application for asylum in the US.  With our sponsorship she can spend that time in a safe, caring space with the support of our affirming community. She won't have to wait out that time in detention, where everyone experiences terrifying conditions and trans compas in particular are singled out for abuse  and punished for being trans . She will need financial support for many things:  phone and commissary while still in detention; a plane ticket to Richmond; food, clothing, medical care, a phone, and bus passes once in Richmond;  legal fees for an attorney to fight her asylum case; and application fees like the $400 for a work permit. Right now we are still waiting for her to be released from detention in Arizona, which could happen in days or months. But we want to be ready to make her feel at home and supported as soon as possible. Please donate in solidarity with our trans immigrant family. Whatever you can give helps us stand collectively against the rising tide of xenophobia and transphobia.Click here  to find out more about Santa Fe Dreamers Project, the organization mobilizing sponsors across the country, or to learn how you can sponsor trans migrants too.(Art from Forward Together )
