Hi everyone! My name is Cooper Slack and I am a senior at L.C. Anderson High School and a Boy Scout in Troop 3 Austin who is currently working on his Eagle Scout project. A guiding principle of the Scouting movement, and what makes Scouting so important to me, is service to other people. The Anderson community has supported me tremendously throughout the years as both a student and an athlete; therefore, I want to give back in the best way I can. For my project. I will be building two seating areas along the walkway leading to the large gym of L.C. Anderson High School - one on either side - installing a total of six all-steel park benches, supported by in-ground concrete mounts, and covering each area in a layer of decomposed granite. This project will provide a shady area for students, particularly student-athletes, to wait comfortably and safely after school or practice while waiting to be picked up or to relax. Furthermore,  the seating areas will provide a welcoming space in which students are able to openly discuss issues affecting our school community. Your generous support will help to pay for the benches and landscaping materials. I understand that not everyone is in a position to help financially, so I am deeply grateful for whatever help you are able to provide!  The date for my project is Saturday, February 15.
