BS Brewing has always been focused on family, whether I am thinking of my own kids or trying to find creative ways for our extended BS Brewing Fam to bring the whole family to have fun out at the brewery. While we are focused on providing the best craft beer possible, over the past year we have felt a growing focus on our country community and a passion for whole families to come out to enjoy our Patio.
In keeping with our traditions of no TVs and no Wifi, our goal is to build a fenced in, nostalgic wooden playground like the ones Jenna and I grew up on. Growing up out in the country myself, it was not always an option to go all the way into town to play with my friends on the weekend. By creating a community playground out in the middle of nowhere, we are creating another option for families to be able to get out of the house, stay away from the city crowds and let their kids be kids. Having four kids of our own, "date nights" have sometimes morphed into big family nights (not a bad thing), but it has gotten harder to feel relaxed while we are out. With a secure playground, a family friendly environment, and plenty of wide open space, our hope is that date nights for young/new parents will become more of a possibility and families of all ages will get outside, away from electronics, and enjoy the time together.
The project will include:
1. Perimeter fence around the whole playground with only one opening (no gate) to help parents relax and keep an eye on their kids.
2. 188 square foot multilevel wooden castle playgound with a 7 foot slide.
3. Swing set with 3 swings + 1 baby swing
4. Monkey Bars and Balance Beam
5. Real Mulch base to soften the inevitable falls and scrapes.
The total project cost is covered in the amount we are trying to raise. We will add to it as much as we can personally. Every little bit helps and we will do the absolute most we can with what we are able to raise.
With as many families as we have at the Patio on the weekends, we felt the need to get this project up and running sooner than we had originally planned, and in keeping with our business model of only paying cash for everything, this is our only option right now to try and get this project up for all of our extended BS Brewing Fam this spring.
It is our joy to be able to offer a spot like this to our community, whether you are here to enjoy a pint of craft soda/wine/beer or if you just wanted to get your kids out of the house, this will be available to everyone during our Patio open hours. Please spread the word and if you think this sounds like something your family or friends would enjoy, please consider donating to help us get it built.
Thank you and CHEERS,
Brian and Jenna Schmoekel
Ashlyn, Caedmon, Logan and Emelyn too!
