My name is Heather, and I was born and raised in Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa has devastated our island and left destruction like I have never seen before. This is not just something I saw on the news — this is personal. My godfather lost his entire home. Several friends and family members have been displaced and are without the basic necessities they need to survive and begin rebuilding.

I am starting this GoFundMe to provide direct assistance to the people I know and love who have been severely impacted, including:

• My Godfather, whose home was destroyed

• Family members who have been displaced

• Close friends who have lost property, income, and access to resources

How the funds will be used:

100% of these funds will go toward emergency essentials and rebuilding support, including:

• Food and water

• Hygiene supplies and toiletries

• Temporary shelter and housing support

• Clothing, shoes, school needs for children

• Basic rebuilding materials / repairs

I will distribute funds directly to the individuals impacted and will provide updates along the way so donors can see how their contributions are bringing relief.

This is a moment of pain — but also a moment where we can come together and be the difference for people who are trying to survive and rebuild from nothing.
