Update!!
Hello my name is Jessica and I'm trying to raise money for my uncle Bryan who has cancer. Squamous cell carcinoma of the urethra. My uncle Bryan and his family have fallen on some hard times. Bryan just recently found out he has urethral cancer... and has been out of work for almost 8 months.
Bryan and Nicole have 3 kids. Braylen-15, Bryce-13 and Brantlee- 9. Once of which, Bryce, is very special needs and requires Nicole's assistance in everything! Bryce isn't even able to walk, talk, sit, stand or feed himself. Bryan and Nicole do all they can for anyone they can, even buying a few families Christmas gifts entirely some years!
Back story on Bryan....
Bryan found out 4 years ago, that he had some really bad urethral strictures... which are spots in the urethral that are practically swollen closed. Bryan went to see a urologist that gave him some options, the best one being that they could rebuild the urethra using skin from the mouth! But this was a difficult surgery that the urologist had never done... during this surgery, Bryan was overdosed on epinephrine! His lungs quickly filled with blood, high rate sky rocketed and Bryan was put in a medically induced coma for 2 days! When he woke up, he had to spend 2 weeks on the cardiac floor, and one on a normal floor in the hospital... finally being release to figure out what the next steps were! After another failed operation but this urologist, Bryan switched urologist!
Since then Bryan has undergone over 25 procedures, and had countless infections that have landed him in the hospital... included one currently, which he's been in for 8 weeks! Durning this 8 week stay, Bryan had to have a piece of his urethra removed.. it was sent away to be tested and it came back as cancer!! Squamous cell carcinoma of the urethra...
upon seeing a penile cancer specialist at Indians University, its plan has been drawn up.... Bryan will receive chemo to try to shrink the cancer as much as possible, then surgery to remove the rest. It is possible that he will require a ton of tissue to be removed, the rest of his urethra, possibly part of his bladder and his prostate, which would ultimately leave him with a urostomy bag to void into...
uncle Bryan has been off of work for around 8 months dealing with all of his issues, and not getting paid for most of that time as his job does not offer long term or short term disability... leaving the family to live off of Nicole's income solely...
**update**
I was moved to the oncology floor yesterday… all new nurses, and a new room… still trying to adjust but honestly, after getting used to my old nurses for over 2 months, it doesn’t feel the same!! But I’ll give it a shot!
Chemo starts Monday… I’ll have a 24hour bag and two smaller bags ran through an iv… then I think I’ll be home by Thursday… they have been telling me that people don’t normally feel the side effects for about a week or so, that def worries me, but at least I’ll be home!!! After that, I wait 3 weeks for another treatment, and the e last one 3 weeks after that, I think…. Then we re-scan…
To tell you I’m nervous, would be an understatement!!! I have been in pain every day for the last 8 months or so, whether it’s been bad, or just slight pain or off and on pain…. Ive been dealing with the whole situation and pain for over 3 years!! I’ve dealt with the mental side, but not very easily… and this makes me more nervous than anything!!! I’m scared… but I know in the end, when I’m still able to see my kids and wife do what they do, I’ll be just fine!!!!
Thank you for the prayers, and thoughts! I love you all….
If you'd like to help but don't like go fund me, they will be setting up a bank account in which you could donate to, or you can send directly to Bryan's cash app!!
