On Tuesday, August 8th, my Grandfather Bryan Bresette suffered a devastating fire at his Bayfield home. A fast-moving fire tore through his home in the early afternoon. Thankfully Bryan escaped with just the clothing on his back. His home is heavily damaged and will be unhabitable. We do not know the exact cause of the fire just yet. Bryan is a sharp 83 years old and his whole life was in that home. He will be currently living with his son Ted Bresette on Bresette on Bresette Hill. He was not an internet/tech person, so all of his documents and important information were all in the house. We will need to do our best to help get him whatever he needs to try to start over.

Bryan is long-time resident of Red Cliff having tremendous pride in his self-reliance and his amazing wood pile, which many of you see along Highway 13. Bryan has ALWAYS been a generous supporter of charities and community events he now needs some help, too! We thank everyone who helped manage the fire and show their support by stopping by. This is an amazing community that comes together when needed.

As anyone who has ever suffered a catastrophic event knows, although insurance may cover many things, there are a ton of things NOT covered by insurance and MANY urgent needs. The Bresette Family is reaching out to the Red Cliff/Bayfield Community (and beyond) for some support during this terrible time.
