Fundraiser for Bryan and Mary Reynolds
Donation protected
5 years ago Bryan Reynolds found himself in the ER at St Joseph’s hospital suffering from excruciating headaches and blurred vision. After many tests and trial and error he was diagnosed with Cryptococcuss Neoformans (to which there is still no cure). Because of its rarity and uncertainty of how to treat, Bellingham and Seattle doctors left Bryan and Mary with little answers and even less hope. Shortly after his diagnosis the National Institute of Health (NIH) contacted Bryan and offered him a spot in a study for the treatment of his disease. Since then Bryan and Mary have made numerous visits to Washington DC for treatment. Bryan received a shunt in his brain with the hopes that it would keep spinal fluid from building and causing headaches along with damage to his eye sight. Unfortunately this hasn’t worked as well as all would have hoped. Bryan still suffers from headaches regularly even with shunt adjustments, and other side effects from his medications. Bryan, being the proud and hard working man he is, continued to work for 3 years before the wear on his body became to much and he had to retired last December.
In the year and a half since Bryan hasn’t been able to work, he has still had to go back and forth to the NIH for treatment, get new glasses as his eye sight deteriorates, as well as attend many doctor appointments here. As you can imagine this takes its toll when you are down to one income and have yet to be accepted for any disability assistance.
We would love to be able to bless Bryan and Mary with something they will never ask for themselves; help.
