My name is Philippe, and this is my challenge: to cycle from Brussels, the capital of Belgium, all the way to Cape Town, South Africa, while raising funds to support the Masiphumelele community on the outskirts of Cape Town.

All funds raised will be donated in full to our partner NGOs, Masicorp and the Songezo Cycling Academy.

Masicorp works hand in hand with the community to provide children, youth, and adults with nutritious meals, access to quality education, and skills development programmes.

Songezo Cycling Academy uses cycling as a tool for education, inclusion, and youth development, combining sport with academic support and mentorship for young people within the community.

The official handover of the funds is planned for December 24th, 2026, upon my arrival in Cape Town, in the presence of representatives from both organisations, partners, members of the local community, friends, supporters, and, subject to availability, representatives of the media and government.

On this occasion, an official cheque presentation ceremony will be held to publicly announce the total amount raised throughout the journey.

Moi, c'est Philippe, et voici mon défi : rejoindre Le Cap en Afrique du Sud à vélo depuis Bruxelles la capitale belge, et collecter des fonds pour soutenir la communauté de Masiphumelele dans la banlieue du Cap.

L'intégralité des fonds collectés sera reversée aux ONG partenaires Masicorp et Songezo Cycling Academy.

Masicorp collabore avec la communauté pour offrir aux enfants, aux jeunes et aux adultes, des repas et un accès à une éducation de qualité ainsi qu’à des programmes de développement des compétences.

Songezo Cycling Academy utilise le cyclisme comme outil d'éducation, d'inclusion, et d'encadrement des jeunes de la communauté, à travers du soutien scolaire.

La remise officielle des fonds est prévue le 24 décembre 2026 à mon arrivée au Cap, en présence des représentants des deux ONG, de partenaires, de membres de la communauté locale, d'amis, de sympathisants et, sous réserve de disponibilité, de représentants des médias et du gouvernement.

À cette occasion, la remise du chèque sera organisée afin de présenter publiquement le montant total récolté durant mon voyage.

Ik ben Philippe, en dit is mijn uitdaging: per fiets van Brussel, de Belgische hoofdstad, naar Kaapstad in Zuid-Afrika rijden en fondsen werven om de gemeenschap van Masiphumelele, een voorstad van Kaapstad, te ondersteunen.

Het volledige ingezamelde bedrag wordt geschonken aan onze partnerorganisaties Masicorp en Songezo Cycling Academy.

Masicorp werkt nauw samen met de lokale gemeenschap om kinderen, jongeren en volwassenen toegang te geven tot voedzame maaltijden, kwaliteitsvol onderwijs en programma’s die hun vaardigheden en toekomstkansen versterken.

Songezo Cycling Academy zet wielrennen in als een krachtig middel voor educatie, inclusie en persoonlijke ontwikkeling. Via sport, studiebegeleiding en mentorschap helpt de organisatie jongeren uit de gemeenschap om hun talenten te ontplooien en een positieve toekomst uit te bouwen.

De officiële overhandiging van de ingezamelde fondsen is gepland op 24 december 2026 bij mijn aankomst in Kaapstad, in aanwezigheid van vertegenwoordigers van beide ngo’s, partners, leden van de lokale gemeenschap, vrienden, sympathisanten en, afhankelijk van hun beschikbaarheid, vertegenwoordigers van de media en de overheid.

Bij die gelegenheid zal de cheque officieel worden overhandigd en zal het totale bedrag dat tijdens mijn reis werd ingezameld publiek worden bekendgemaakt.

Net als ik kunt u elke kilometer die ik afleg omzetten in een concrete impact voor Masiphumelele.
