'Brummies United Against Racism and Hate' Poster Campaign

Help Us Flood Birmingham with a Message of Unity and Hope

Hi! We're Anthony, Seb, Kath, Shirley and Mus. We're the neighbours that started the poster campaign called 'Brummies United Against Racism'.

We’re on a mission to print thousands of posters and stickers—and distribute them FREE across Birmingham—because together, we can overwhelm our city with positivity and stand strong in the face of hate.

Brummies United Against Racism and Hate Crime is more than a campaign—it’s a movement. A movement to unite our communities, break down the walls of division, and send a clear message of solidarity against all forms of hate in Birmingham.

Our Story:

In March 2022, our neighbours in Moseley were shocked to find hateful leaflets from the far-right group 'Patriotic Alternative' scattered on their doorsteps—designed to sow fear and division. But rather than letting hate take root, we chose to fight back with something far stronger: unity.

We created a simple, yet powerful, poster: Brummies United Against Racism and Hate Crime. Our goal was clear: turn the tide of negativity into something positive, and flood our city with a message of hope.

Before long, others wanted to join in. Residents from neighbouring streets began asking for copies of the poster to display in their windows. Thanks to the support of local businesses, councillors, and the Birmingham community, our message quickly spread—what began in one neighbourhood soon became a city-wide movement.

Our Growing Impact:

By August 2024, after the far-right riots, our campaign gained even more momentum. Well-known organisations like the Birmingham Mail rallied behind us, and even produced a special pull-out poster in support of our cause:

The Leader of Birmingham City Council also voiced his strong support for our movement:

In a time when others are trying to divide us, we are choosing to unite Birmingham with a message of peace, hope, and solidarity. Together, we can build a city where every neighbour, every street, and every community stands strong against hate.

How You Can Help:

To keep this movement growing, we need your support. Here’s how you can get involved:

Donate to our fundraiser to print more posters, stickers, and other materials.

Display our poster in your home, shop, school, church, or community centre. The more visible we make this message, the harder it is for hate to take root.

Join us in making Birmingham a city that stands proudly united against hate.
