My wish for my 60th birthday is to raise funds for a State of Texas historical marker for my Clendening family cemetery, the Bruceville-Moore Cemetery in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas. My great-great-grandfather David Return Kincannon, a citizen of the Republic of Texas, is buried there along with my great-great-grandmother. My great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, and other extended family are also buried there. There are other citizens of the Republic of Texas, a Representative from McLennan County in the TX legislature (1879-1880), and many veterans of many wars as well as their spouses. I have spent the last 1.5 years researching the original deed to provide to the Texas Historical Commission. I've completed the deed ownership trail that the Texas Historical Commission requires. An application with original deed history and payment for the historical marker is required when submitting an application. The price of a large marker with a pole is $2,500. I am hopeful that all Clendening relatives and those with interest in Texas history will to contribute to this worthy cause and help me honor my Texas ancestors.
