Bruce's Mission to Aid Zuni Artisans

Donation protected
My name is Bruce Autolitano, and I fell in love with the Zuni carvings when I was in high school in the 1970s.

I have been carving stone, shells, and designing jewelry for over 30 years. I was a Zuni trader supplying the trading posts throughout Arizona during the 1990s.

My appreciation for their jewelry-making and fetish carvings has been a part of my life ever since.

I visited the Zuni reservation only once 10 years ago. I look forward to going there and bringing supplies that are needed for their carvers.

After speaking to a local trading post in Zuni, I was informed of the hard times that have fallen on the Zuni families.

I have offered to bring to the tribe several hundred pounds of alabaster generously donated by an alabaster stone carver in Camp Verde, Arizona. She is also willing to teach the fine art of alabaster stone carving to the upcoming carvers of Zuni.

Materials Needed:
Elk antlers, turquoise, coral, abalone shells, a commercial grade ban-saw, a drill press, a tile cutting saw, a welder, a large pick-up truck that can carry heavy loads of alabaster, and a light-weight trailer.

Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.
