Brother’s Keeper is one of the National Programs of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. It is a service program developed with the mission ov advocating and improving the quality of life for brothers, their spouses, widows of deceased brothers, the disabled, and vulnerable members of the community.
In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, and pursuant to Objective 7 of the aforementioned National Program (ensure adequate supplies of food, water, and clothing, with special emphasis on disaster management and recovey), the New Jersey Association of Alpha Phi Alpha Chapters (“NJAAPAC”) has established the Brothers Keeper Care Fund (“Care Fund”). The Care Fund is being established for New Jersey brothers, who find themselves in extreme financial need created by job loss, health crisis, natural disaster or other unexpected changes in life’s circumstances. While we are practicing social distancing, NJAAPAC is committed to showing that we are here for and will continue to support our brothers.
We have set an initial goal of $7,000. Brother’s Keeper Care Donor levels:
o Compassionate: $25.27
o Appreciation: $50
o Respect: $75
o Encouragement: $100
The process for receiving financial assistance from the Care Fund will be simple and confidential. Brothers will complete application, which will be reviewed by the NJAAPAC Executive Committee. If any brother is unable to complete the application himself due to disability, a spouse, family member, or another brother may assist in its completion.
