Dearest Faeries and our friends~
After the gorgeous success of the 2025 Brooklyn Gatherette, we’re looking to build on our collective momentum and bring us all together again in the big city. Thus, the fae of NYC are calling a gatherette in Brooklyn, the last weekend in May, 2026!
Last year, we honored the summer solstice and the brightest day of the year—We kiki’d and shared food in gracious faerie homes across the borough. We mounted ritual theater in the park, danced the night away at our steamy dreamy Dream Rave, and strengthened our network in ways we didn’t know possible.
This year, our gathering coincides with a full moon in Sagittarius that begs us to point boldly toward the world we want. We have a theme: Perpetual Oasis which is a call to reflect on the expansive desert in which we are situated, to build our oasis with intention, and reach for ambitious goals beyond expression and joy so that the active pursuit of a brighter future is inherent in our infrastructure. It’s a call to enact this oasis as part of our daily lives and to seek and provide support when and how we can.
Our planning has only seen more and more participation, dreaming, and scheming from an ever-growing community of collaborators. (It’s all been very exciting!!) We want to meet this moment, keep learning, and iterate so that our 2026 Gatherette can hold all the plans, gags, art, magic[k], care, happenings, and shenanigans that we can think up.
We’re extra excited this year because we have the opportunity to gather in an abundant home-base for the entire weekend! The space is a giant warehouse run by an organization called QNCC (the Queer Nightlife Community Center). This space has more than enough room for our collective to gather in all the ways our hearts desire, rain or shine!
New York City is the home to so many in the Fae diaspora, we intend to forge even stronger bonds within our local community. Together, we’ll be welcoming visiting fae from far and wide to join in the revelry and feel at home with us here in NYC.
Why are we asking for coin?
Last year we hosted a beautiful decentralized gatherette in various spaces. This year, we want the gatherette to have a container where we can cocreate together and, mama the rent in NYC is expensive!
Here are some of the many exciting things your money will help fund:
- A temporary but also perpetual oasis sanctuary at QNCC, which is a nonprofit looking to help foster alternative Queer community space. QNCC is graciously letting us dream big and imagine together in a shared container.
- Meals throughout the gatherette! Feeding one another is central to our ethos and we need your help to make sure we can provide meals for everyone.
- Ambitious programming: Faeries are organizing an art show, k[no]w talent show, skill shares, talks, workshops, sublime ritual, an ecstatic gala, and more!
- Our digital land and security: as we build a decentralized faerie community in urban space, we want to provide secure and functional digital tools to help our community organize and commune safely in the digital world, and some of these tools require subscriptions.
Our fundraising in 2025 left us with some funds to get started with. By raising this $10K we will set ourselves up for continued prosperity by ensuring that all of our upfront costs are covered.
