Bronx Summer Fun and Activities for Kids

My name is Jassen Cintron. I am just someone who wants to see and be a part of productive events and workshops that help my community unite and grow. I am nobody special, but the people who live in my neighborhood are. I formed a block association called “We Serve the Bronx" so my neighbors and I can get together to find ways to unite, help and serve each other.
Last summer, we offered a successful week-long partial day program for 150 kids age 5-12 from the South Bronx. This summer we plan to offer it again for 150-400 kids. There is an even greater need now, as kids have spent the last few months at home, attending school remotely and isolated from their friends and mentors. Our goal is to raise enough money to provide activities focused on fun, creativity, team building, the arts and culture as well as lunch daily.
We will provide a safe place in the Padre Community Garden in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx for kids to move, dance, create art and have fun participating in tightly run activities. We are always willing to make connections with other organizations and people, including families in our neighborhood so we can create an event that reflects the views, needs and culture of the community.
We are planning to stage this event in late August, and we need all the help we can get. We are also staying updated on the Coronavirus pandemic and city guidelines and planning accordingly.
To offer a great event for the community, we need to raise $5000 so that we can provide:
Food
Materials, paint and art supplies
Games
Music and sound equipment
Experienced Program Leaders
Publicity, flyers and cards
What can you give to assure that these kids have an engaging week of fun this summer?
