We never expected Bronco’s foster journey to turn into a fight for his life.
Bronco is one of my fosters from Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS) – Medley Shelter.
Before fostering him, I took Bronco out on Pawventure twice. I was told he was healthy, but Bronco had actually been dealing with an ongoing upper respiratory infection (URI) since June 2026—an infection that eventually progressed into pneumonia.
I didn’t know he had pneumonia. I only discovered it because his persistent coughing and mucus didn’t feel right to me, and I decided to keep investigating.
Since then, Bronco has been through multiple veterinary appointments and emergency visits as we’ve tried to understand exactly what is happening, adjust his treatment, and get this beautiful boy healthy again.
For two weeks, we fought this at home with antibiotics, nebulization, rest, isolation, and constant care. His condition had not appeared to be getting worse, and we were doing everything possible to help him recover.
Then, overnight from August 19th to August 20th, everything changed.
On the morning of August 20th, Bronco vomited and his gums became extremely pale. He was weak and struggling, and I immediately rushed him to Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG).
Unfortunately, Bronco needed to be hospitalized and placed on oxygen and supportive care. The pneumonia we had been fighting had become serious enough that Bronco was now fighting for his life.
His current bill at VEG is already approximately $5,790 for his overnight hospitalization and assisted care.
If you have ever met Bronco—or even just followed his story—you know what an incredible dog he is.
He is sweet. He is obedient. He is loyal. He trusts people despite everything he has been through. He is truly the best boy, and he deserves the chance to finally be healthy and have the life he has been waiting for.
Giving up on Bronco is not an option for me. I won’t do it.
But I need help.
If you can donate, any amount makes a difference. Even $5, $10, or $20 helps us continue fighting for him. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing Bronco’s story. Every share can help us reach someone who can.
I am praying and hoping that Bronco will only need this one overnight hospitalization, that his oxygen levels will stabilize, and that he will be strong enough to come home and continue recovering with me.
Bronco has already fought so hard.
Now I’m asking for help so I can keep fighting for him. ❤️
Every donation, every share, and every person rooting for Bronco means more than I can express.
Please help me bring Bronco home.
