EVERY DAY COUNTS – LIFT ‘EM UP
– Brody Reynolds

This campaign and message of EVERY DAY COUNTS LIFT ‘EM UP are inspired by the living spirit of Brody Reynolds. Although he is not here in person today, his message and spirit of living can be - and we hope it goes forward with you and others in life. Please read below for the story behind the message and we humbling ask for your help to continue this message that is so needed in our cultural time of increasing disconnect and that is starving for friendship, uplifting relationships and kindness.

Brody Reynolds tragically lost his life in January due to a car accident. Among the items recovered and returned to the family from the accident was a bracelet that Brody, and one of his best friends, both wore every day on their wrist stating in bold type- EVERY DAY COUNTS!

One thing that Brody’s family knows is true is that Brody definitely lived his life to this motto. It was not just in a fun YOLO sort of way of always being down for packing the most fun into each day with school, work, fishing, surfing, lacrosse, rope swings, basketball, and trips to Cookout, Cane’s, and Comeback Shack. Brody exceled at making every day count by how he treated people. Brody truly loved others, took joy in making them smile, passing out hugs, openly telling them he loved them, and by making them feel welcome and that they mattered. He made every day count in how he took joy in simple things like a great wave, playing or cuddling with his dog, the perfect smashburger, a beautiful summer day for fun, someone being really nice to him, or especially by how he was able to help someone else with something. He instinctively sought out those who were alone, outcast, shy, and unsure. He didn’t see them that way - he just wanted everyone to feel happy, loved, connected, and to live life to fullest. He wanted to not just make every day count for himself but also for others.

When Brody was 5 years old, his mother told him that he was her hero in how he came in to this world just happy to be here and how he loved everyone fresh each day. She also told him (and his siblings) a lesson she had learned. The lesson was to remember that there are two types of people in this world – balcony people and basement people. She said, “Brody, always be a balcony person and spend your life lifting others up – never, ever become a basement person who spends their lives pulling others down to as low as they feel. Also, make sure to keep yourself in that balcony by surrounding yourself with other balcony people who will lift you up when you feel like you’re slipping. AND remember that being in that balcony is done by the small acts of love and kindness you do each day, not one big thing, it’s the little things.” Brody’s friends, family, and acquaintances all share that Brody’s spirit and legacy was definitely one of a balcony person.

As you go out into the world, please remember Brody and continue to spread these two very important messages from his spirit of living– EVERY DAY COUNTS and LIFT ‘EM UP. Please wear a bracelet and consider helping us to purchase more bracelets to grow this message as ALL DONATIONS GO TO PURCHASING MORE BRACELETS and EVRRY DAY CIUNTS-LIFT ‘EM UP items .
