IMPORTANT UPDATE: PLEASE JOIN US by attending the FINAL Official Zoning Hearing on November 20th, at 7PM at the Whitpain Township Building, 960 Wentz Road, Blue Bell, PA.

Hello Broad Axe Community and Friends,
We Still Need Help to Fight an Unsafe, Irresponsible, and Unnecessary Commercial Development Application in our Community.
On August 4th, 2025, Whitpain Township posted a Zoning Hearing Board Application Notice for the redevelopment of our neighborhood corner (1 & 11 Skippack Pike, Whitpain - ZHB#2459-25). The Applicant has included a request for a Special Exception to add a Drive Through “Restaurant” to the site. The granting of this Exception by our Zoning Board will create major negative impacts to public health, public safety, public welfare, and public interest caused by this proposed commercial enterprise. It will have direct adverse traffic and pedestrian safety effects on our Broad Axe neighborhood streets and the already congested major intersection at Butler and Skippack Pikes.

The battle continues into the fourth and final quarter. We have provided our sound concerns and a solid opposition at meetings with the applicant's agent, the owner’s lawyer, the Whitpain Planning Commission, the Whitpain Board of Supervisors, and three Whitpain Zoning Hearings held on August 21st /September 18th/October 16th, 2025. Twelve of our families have stood up to become official adverse parties against this Zoning Exception, and many have testified in opposition. We have retained essential legal representation and a traffic engineering consultant. They have fully represented our cause to Deny this Drive Through at multiple hearings.

It is important to understand that this type of professional representation at Zoning Hearings has cost many thousands of dollars.

We still need significant funds for our attorneys and our traffic engineering consultant to continue this fight to the end for the community public good.

Please donate as much as possible so that we can continue this legal defense together at OUR FOURTH AND FINAL Zoning Board Hearing, scheduled for November 20th, 2025 (7 PM) at the Whitpain Township Building.

Please help today.

Many Thanks!
