Want to join me in making a difference? Approximately 1 in 7 Hoosiers face food insecurity and nearly 500,000 Hoosiers live in poverty. My goal for this #GivingTuesday campaign is to raise at least $3,000 for the Share Food Pantry at my church, Diversity Church. I have witnessed the issue of food insecurity in Indianapolis and I believe that we can make a difference.
The Share Food Pantry provides food to the community on a biweekly schedule, serving about 90-100 families each session. This food pantry is unique because the volunteers show genuine care for the clients through conversation and prayer, and a system that does not require any form of identification that might restrict clients elsewhere. As the holiday season is quickly approaching, let us give the gift of food to those who need it the most. The money raised will provide funding to the food pantry to accommodate for more of our neighbors, will help balance out the price increases we have seen from inflation, and will help us to pursue some of our long-term goals. We would love to further our outreach by one day offering life-skills resources, ESL resources, and more foods that accommodate for the homeless.
- For $22.90 you can fund one family their groceries from the food pantry.
- For about $45.00 you can fund one family their groceries from the food pantry for a month.
I am inviting you to give what you can through one (or more) of the following ways:
- Donate money to the campaign
- Volunteer at the food pantry during the week of Thanksgiving (Tuesday, November 21)
- Share the campaign with your friends and family
