Help & Support the Scott Family-Quadruplets

After experiencing a miscarriage in June 2020, my daughter Brittany went in for her first sonogram (after receiving a positive test) on October 29, 2020; praying for a healthy baby. It was then she found out she was pregnant with quadruplets.

Things are changing big time (x4) for the Scott Family. The babies were born on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 and are currently receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Oishei Children’s Hospital, Buffalo New York. Chase was born weighing 3 pounds, 12 ounces, Hazel was born weighing 4 pounds, 3 ounces, Paisley was born weighing 4 pounds, 14 ounces and Scarlett was born weighing 3 pounds, 14 ounces. Along with their 3-year-old daughter, Savannah, they have increased their family by 3 girls and 1 boy. They have no idea what to expect but know the cost caring for an infant will be multiplied by four!

I recently read a USDA report that says the average middle-income family spends $12,000-$14,000 on child related expenses each year; for newborns, the cost is higher! Times this by four for Brittany and Justin and that would amount to $56,000 a year (excluding the current cost for Savannah). This could be higher if any challenges occur with medical expenses.

While 4 babies are a blessing, it will also be a struggle financially. Justin will be the sole income provider for the family of 7 as Brittany will need to stay home with the babies and will not be able to continue to work. The cost of feeding, clothing, getting a vehicle to transport a family of 7 and even the realization of an aging washer and dryer (that will be used quite a lot), will be challenging for them this year as well as many years to come!

We were set to have a Baby Shower for them but at the advice of the hospital and for the safety of Brittany and Justin’s health, we have to cancel.
