This sweet boy is Nate and he spent the first 9 months of his life fighting for his life in the NICU. After finally being able to go home his family, The Brito-Alvarez family, was able to breathe a sigh of relief. But that didn’t last long, two nights before Nate’s first birthday party an active shooter shot at the floor above their apartment causing pipes to burst and their apartment along with their belongings to be completely destroyed. I took care of Nate and his family while they were in the NICU and they are near and dear to me.
