Bristol Balloon Collectors

Hi I’m Liam co founder of the old balloon group Bristol Balloon Collectors. I came up with the idea of preserving old envelopes back in 2017 when I pitched the idea to my brother Dan which he replied without hesitation let’s do it.

The idea came from being offered 3 unairworthy envelopes and having a retired envelope already and seeing other private collections doing this I thought it would be great to also join in and save some history.

Over the years we have grown quicker than I’d have imagined and I’m overwhelmed by the amount of volunteers and friends that take time out to help us but what came with this was costs.

Last year alone I paid out £4,000+ of my own money to run the collection and with such a high number it’s time to reach out to our community and supporters to help balance the books.

Any and all donations are hugely appreciated your generosity will help us pay running fees such as garages/containers where we store all shapes and sizes, help us rebuild and save envelopes that either need some tlc or major rebuilds, help us with travel costs to bring envelopes over from Europe or travelling around the UK and recently getting the idea of running an inflation day for the public & ballooning community.

a big big big thank you to everyone over the years that have supported us and to everyone who donates. We here at the collection are a big community and we want to put a positive spin on our beloved hobby and introduce and motivate people to join in.
