Australia is currently facing its worst drought to date and Farmers in Rural towns will face their toughest summer yet if it doesn’t Rain in the next few months .
So we as a group of Irish friends living in Brisbane , together with your help have decided we want to help where we can this Christmas .
My name is Richard Lenihan and together with my Wife Louise we have been living in Brisbane for 11 years with our 3 kids .
We are fundraising to buy bottled water and animal feed for our neighbours -
The town of Stanthorpe which situated in South East QLD and lies on the New England highway near the New South Wales border .
It is a double hit to the Farmers who are not only battling drought but the town itself has a critical water shortage .
We have been in contact with the Southern Downs regional council and The Granite Belt Drought Assist group who are run by volunteers within the community of Stanthorpe .
We are going straight to the front lines personally handing out bagged food and bottle water from the Stanthorpe Showgrounds and Heading out to farms with water trucks which have been kindly donated to us , We are going to meet with the farmers first hand and seeing the affects of this drought with our own eyes .
We are going ensure that every single cent raised and donated items are going straight to those doing it extra tough .
Please Donate as much or as little that you can .
Every single $1 will go to helping the farmers.
I richard Lenihan the sole name on this campaign am in charge of the all the finances associated with this campaign . I will be personally in charge making sure that all money raised goes to pay for the animal stock feedand water . We currently have 50 pallets of water and 25 ton of animal feed ordered sofar but we will be paying for all that this Friday and adding more with what money we have left .
On the day of the drought run , any money left over will be transferred into the bank account of the granite belt drought assist charity to purchase more goods for the farmers .
I will personally over see everything .
Thank you ,
Richard and Louise Lenihan
