On Sunday 12 April, Briohny’s life changed forever.
Driving on the Monash Freeway in Melbourne, she was involved in a devastating car crash that tragically claimed the life of her beautiful 12-year-old son and left her with serious, life changing injuries.
Briohny sustained long term brain and physical injuries and faces a long, painful rehabilitation journey. Simple things she once did without thinking will now take enormous effort and support.
Despite unimaginable grief, Briohny will be fighting every day to rebuild her life for the sake of her 8-year-old daughter. Her strength is extraordinary, but the practical and financial load is simply too heavy for her to carry alone.
Why we are fundraising
Over the coming months, Briohny will need support with everyday living expenses, including paying her mortgage, utilities, care for her daughter and transport to medical appointments. Our goal is to remove as much financial stress as we can so Briohny can focus on healing – physically, emotionally and mentally.
How your donation helps
Briohny was in no way responsible for this tragic accident, but as a result her life is forever changed and will be severely impacted and disadvantaged moving forward. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real and immediate difference. Your support can help ensure Briohny is able to return to her memory-filled home and keep up with immediate essential bills.
If you are not in a position to donate right now, sharing this page with your own networks is also a powerful way to help.
A message from those who love her
Those who know Briohny will know her as a loving mum, a loyal friend, and someone who is always first to offer help when others are in need. She did not ask for this fundraiser; it has been set up by family and friends who have seen firsthand the scale of the challenges ahead and want to stand beside her.
We cannot change what has happened, but together we can wrap practical care around a grieving mother who has already lost so much.
Thank you for reading, for donating if you can, and for keeping Briohny and her family in your thoughts.
