Bring Landen Home

Donation protected

This is Eric Wilson, Yevonne's youngest son, with his son Landen. Many of you are probably aware of the ongoing custody battle we've been going through with State of Texas CPS,to reunite Landen with our family. Here's the background story....

About 2 years ago, when Landen was 18 months old, Eric received a letter in the mail for a court ordered paternity test from the State of Texas CPS department. This is how he found out he had a son. Landen's mother, was not in a good place in her life and had moved to Texas, and never told Eric about Landen, until she lost custody. At this point in Eric's life, he was not doing well financially and was heavily addicted to drugs. However, when he flew to Texas and met his son for the first time, he fell in love and immediately found purpose for his life.

There was a family in Texas who was searching for an "adoptable child" from CPS. Before paternity was established with Eric, Landen was considered "adoptable," and CPS placed him with this family. Once this family found out that Landen had a father, they hired a lawyer and have done everything in their power to keep him away from us. They are very wealthy and know a lot of people in the CPS system in Texas, which has made it more difficult for our family. Yevonne, a.k.a. Nanny, hired a lawyer on Eric's behalf, and has pretty drained most of her life savings into this battle to bring him home.

Through this child, God has captured Eric's heart in a way that no one knew was possible. He has been transformed. In the last couple years, Eric has not only completed the 12 step program, but he's extremely involved with CMA, and AA fellowships. He has home groups in both fellowships, and active service commitments. He is an active member of the Knights, which is a highly revered men's sobriety organization. In pursuring his own sobriety, Eric has reached out, sponsered, encouraged, and supported a tremendous amount of people over the last 15 months. He has stepped up at work, and is now managing for his brother, Dean's plumbing company, and is has started up an internal accountability program for employee's who have battled with addiction. He has jumped through every hoop required of him from hair follicle tests, psych evalutions, counseling, parenting classes, and required monthly supervised vists in Texas.

At this point in time, the lawyers for CPS and the lawyers for the foster family fighting for custody of Landen, keep post poning the trial and our lawyer fees are soaring through the roof. The reason we are reaching out to friends and family now, is because we are running out of funds and we cannot give up now. Landen needs to know who his family is, and he needs to grow up with his father. Please help us win this fight and reunite Landen with our family! If you are unable to contribute financially, please include Eric and Landen in your prayers. Thank you.
