(shhh...It's a SURPRISE) We want to bring Pastor Michael's mom, Betty, to the States. Pastor Michael & his family have longed to bring his mom to the U.S. from Uganda for years. Betty just recently turned 75, yet continues to work daily at her small flower shop where she has worked for over 20 years. Michael has seen his Mum Jjaja, just three days in the past 14 years. After a lifetime of hard work and personal sacrifice raising her children and supporting herself with her flower shop, we think it's time for Betty, Jjaja, to reunite with her family, meet the two youngest grandchildren (Nathaniel & Ellie) in person, and have some much needed rest. Family circumstances brought the Kisaka family back to the U.S., where the kids were able to know their maternal grandmother in her final years. Pastor Michael has been scrimping and saving to bring his mom over but, with four growing kids, it has been a challenge. We’d love to bless him with the peace of mind of being able to have his mom close; and we’d love for Mum Jjaja to get to know her youngest grandchildren in person. The donations we receive will go toward airfare for Jjaja, passport and Visa costs, as well as a travel companion to help elderly Betty on her first travel abroad & closing costs on her flower shop. We'd love to keep this campaign a SECRET from Michael and surprise him with the funds at an upcoming celebration on February 22nd. We know that this is a big undertaking, but we know that the Kisaka family are loved by so many in their community, that every little bit will help. As the African proverb says "little by little makes a bundle." PS. Pastor Michael's Wife, Tawnia, is aware and excited about this surprise. Thank you for any and all donations! Signed, Michael's Friends
