Hi there! My name is Seth Lambright and I am an aspiring playwright from Illinois. During August of 2024, I set out to write my first ever, full-length theatrical production, something that I had been wanting to do for as long as I can remember. I've had tons of ideas over my life, but this was the first one that had stuck. Approximately one month later, I had written the first draft of 'Words Are My Weapons', a deeply personal show that I had an absolute blast writing. After showing it to my friends and loved ones, I decided that I was going to bring it to the local theater to see if I could get it approved to be put on. And, to my surprise, they accepted! Now, with myself at the helm as director, my dream of writing and putting on one of my stories to a live audience is coming to fruition in the spring of 2027. However, building rentals are expensive and the fact that this is a show that nobody had ever heard of might hinder its ability to draw in a crowd. Thus, why I am here! Through some math calculation, I believe that a minimum of $600 would be more than enough to act as a cushion, however any more over $600 would be put towards costume pieces, set design and advertising for the show. Which is why I am turning to my community and everyone beyond. I believe in this show. I believe this show has messages woven into it that everyone needs to hear, no matter what walk of life you come from. I believe wholeheartedly that this story's messages of healthy communication and empathy towards the people we love is something that nearly every person can connect to and identify with. I believe that it is a profoundly human story and I want others to share in that human experience with me. Because that's what art is and that's what art should be.
