What is the Vroom Vroom Toon Room?
The Vroom Vroom Toon Room is a mobile nonprofit built around a simple idea:
Bring the things people need to get into snowboarding directly to them.
We're building a mobile rig that can travel to snowboard communities and mountain towns, working alongside local shops, resorts, brands, and riders.
The Toon Room will provide affordable gear, free/donation-based tuning, beginner onboarding and guidance, mentorship, community events, and opportunities for people who might otherwise never find their way into snowboarding.
A Toon Room stop isn't just a van parked somewhere selling boards.
We want to arrive in a community, meet people at the local shop, help them find and fit gear, get their equipment ready, take them riding, introduce them to people who can help them progress, and finish the experience as a community.
Meet the crew. Get geared up. Get dialed. Go ride. Make some friends.
Then we pack up and take it to the next town.
Why we're asking for your help.
Snowboarding has some very real barriers.
Gear is expensive. Lessons are expensive. Getting started can be intimidating. And if you don't already know somebody in the culture, it can be difficult to even know where to begin.
We're trying to remove as many of those barriers as we can.
Your contribution will help us put the first Toon Room on the road and fuel its first season.
Funds will support the mobile rig and build-out, trailer/mobile showroom, snowboard gear and inventory, tuning equipment, fuel and operating expenses, and the equipment needed to bring these events directly to communities. These are the core startup needs identified in our first-season plan.
How your donations will be used:
- Purchase a 4x4 Van: Chevy Astro, GMC Safari, or similar: $6,000
- Mechanical Repairs/Upgrades: $2,000
- Build-out: Sleeping platform, tuning accessory storage: $1,500
- 10x10 EZ-up Tent: With walls: $1,000
- Roof Top Storage: Sky Box or similar: $1,000
- Awning w/ Room: ARB or similar: $1,000
- Events, Marketing and Merch: Operating expenses: $5,000
