Bringing Mia home/Adoption Fundraiser

Our family was given the immense privilege of having Saraiah for 8 wonderful years. in 2010, Saraiah was born to Jeremiah and Veronica (my brother and sis-in-law) & diagnosed with hypo-plastic left heart, down syndrome and cerebral palsy. None of us were aware of her diagnosis before she was born. On January 4, 2010 she made an early appearance, but soon after she was born we were told she would only live a few hours. I vividly remember being there that day, and witnessing a miracle. We all hung out on the hospital floor, Piled in ...praying and singing. What was a few hour life expectancy turned into 3 weeks, and the scare of almost losing her multiple times in the first year. Her life brought reconciliation to our family, joy, perseverance, and so much more. She did more in her short life than any of us could do in a lifetime. She impacted us in ways we cant verbalize, yet feel deeply....She passed away in April of 2018....yet we remember her daily. We are forever changed.

This was our visit to Saraiah's grave in April

She is the reason.....
A note from Veronica:
Because of the great impact and the gift Saraiah was to our family, we are adopting a baby with down syndrome from Eastern Europe. This is a God thing. Shortly after Saraiah passed away I expressed interest in someday adopting a child with DS. Jeremiah was not ready and I honestly thought he never would be. I dropped it and went forward. We got licensed for foster care to find a way to give back to other hurting children. One night I was going to sleep crying and missing my girl and felt impressed to pray that if we were meant to adopt a baby with DS that God would change my hubby's heart. In my mind I expected years to pass by before this would be a reality. Or maybe not at all. But I whispered the prayer and went to sleep. The next day I got a call from Jeremiah and on the other line he spoke the words....."what if we adopt a child with down syndrome" You guys.....God works fast! I've only witnessed this swift answer to prayer a few times in my life, but every time it has left me sobbing. This was it! 24 hours and our lives were changed. Sometimes we pray these things not expecting God to answer, but in this moment I was fully convinced that this was what God wanted. Well, we are doing this thing. We immediately discovered a little baby girl online at Reeces Rainbow that had just been listed. After combing through 200 babies, she jumped off the page..."this is the one." I knew it in my heart and called Jeremiah up feeling hopeful, but after talking to the agency we were told the chances of finding her in the system would be slim. About 20 minutes later I got an email. The agency we are with happens to be working with the facilitator from the orphanage our baby girl is in. We committed and filled out our application 24 hours later. And we are beyond excited to bring this baby girl home.

Mia Bella Louise Hamlet, will be coming home next spring. (Louise) is Saraiah's middle name. (We can not share photos of her until later in the process)
A note from Jake:
We want to help bring our new niece home! We are asking big things from God but trusting he's got this. The cost to bring Mia home is around $33,000, and 3 trips to Eastern Europe. Jeremiah and Veronica are selling what they can, applying for grants, and fundraising. Our goal is to help fund 2/3 of this cost. The process to adopt from Eastern Europe is very quick. 7 months or less, which leaves little time to come up with the funds. They have already committed a portion to this total cost and our goal is to fundraise the rest. We want to help ease the financial burden of adoption for our family. We are asking for your help. No gift is too small, as every bit helps bring Mia home.
All funds raised will go directly to the Hamlets to help fund the adoption. (in-country fees, adoption fees)
We are so grateful and appreciate your generosity!
