Just over two years ago, the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) moved from Harlem to the South Bronx with one dream: to serve the community through education, culture, and connection.
Since then, we’ve been remodeling our new building to create a safe, vibrant space for youth, families, and neighbors. We are now in the final stage of renovations — ready to fully open our doors.
Even during construction, we’ve been running:
- Korean language classes
- Korean Cooking Academy
- Zumba
- Realistic Drawing
- Children’s choir community concerts
- Summer camps and youth camps
- Parent workshops
- Mind education programs

These programs help children and teens develop confidence and leadership, and give families tools to communicate and grow stronger together.
This September, we are bringing our mission to the streets with Taste of Korea — the first Korean cultural festival in the South Bronx — featuring authentic food, traditional music and dance, cultural performances, and hands-on activities for all ages.

But this is more than a festival.
We aim to:
- Educate children and youth about global cultures while fostering character development.
- Support families through workshops that strengthen relationships and emotional well-being.
- Build bridges between the Korean community and our neighbors in the Bronx.
- Break stereotypes about the South Bronx by showcasing joy, unity, and safety.
Many still see the South Bronx as unsafe and under-resourced, and there has been little Asian cultural representation here.
By hosting Taste of Korea and continuing our year-round programs, we hope to change perceptions, create connections, and open opportunities for cultural exchange that enrich our community for years to come.
Fundraising Goal: $20,000
