One of my most cherished memories from my first trip to Indonesia happened at Boas's House, one of the orphanages I’ll be visiting again this summer. It began with a fun activity where the kids and staff were playing a game—everyone walked in a circle, and when a number was called out, we’d all scurry to form groups of that size. The game was filled with laughter and excitement. In the middle of the game, a little girl named Rebeka, about three years old, quietly walked up to me and held my hand. She hadn’t spoken to me before, maybe because of the language barrier, but in that moment, no words were needed. I felt a warmth in my heart I’d never felt before. That simple gesture—her small hand in mine—was so powerful and sweet, it stuck with me like honey. It’s the memory that made my heart ache to go back.

Hi, my name is Rona. I'm currently a freshman in highschool and through the organization, Yana Ministry (yanaministry.org), I've been given the great opportunity to spend time, run VBS(Vacation Bible School), connect with the orphans, and create new and fond memories with them. Yana Ministry has been an ongoing organization for 14 years, supporting orphans and bringing them hope, letting them know that they are not alone, hence Yana(You Are Not Alone).

My first trip last year changed my life—I formed a bond with the kids that can’t be explained through words. I was always curious about what it would be like to go on this trip, and that curiosity encouraged me to take the leap. After my first visit, I knew I had to return. I missed the children as soon as I left, and my heart was set on going back to bring them hope and joy. So, this summer, I am returning to visit the three different orphanages, Dongmyung in Korea, and Boas's House and Luma Kita in Indonesia.

The funds I’m raising will go directly toward travel costs, materials, and curriculum for the summer camp at Dongmyung, Boas's House, and Luma Kita. While I may not have the financial means, I have the time, energy, and heart to give to the orphans. With your support, I’ll be able to create a positive, uplifting experience for the kids, helping them realize they’re not alone and that they have people who care about them. My goal is to give them a chance to dream big, reach for their goals, and find hope for the future.
