I’m reaching out to share a heartfelt cause that’s very close to my heart.
I grew up in Bucana, a province in the Philippines where fishing has always been the lifeblood of our community. Over the past few years, life here has become increasingly difficult. The pandemic caused a severe decline in the fishing industry, and by 2021, many families were struggling to afford even basic necessities like rice.
This year has been especially devastating. Our province was hit by two major typhoons, destroying nearly half of the homes in the area. Many families are now displaced, rebuilding what they can, and facing even greater uncertainty as the New Year approaches. With so many homes lost, there are now more families in need of food and support than ever before.
I started this fundraiser to make sure that, despite these hardships, no family has to go without a meal on New Year’s Eve. Last year, thanks to incredibly generous donors, we raised $1,830, which allowed us to provide a hot meal and rice to over 200 families. Seeing the relief and gratitude on their faces was truly unforgettable.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward food packages for families who need it most. Your support can help bring comfort, hope, and dignity during an incredibly difficult time.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for considering supporting this cause. With your help, we can make the New Year a little brighter for the families of Bucana.
