I am incredibly excited to share that I have the opportunity to volunteer with Mercy Ships in Toamasina, Madagascar, providing life-changing medical care to those in need. Mercy Ships is a Christian nonprofit that operates the world’s largest civilian hospital ships, offering free surgeries and healthcare to communities with limited access to medical services. From June 28th to October 6th, 2025, I will be serving on board the Africa Mercy, living aboard the ship and contributing my skills to help ensure patients receive the care they deserve. However, this mission comes with personal expenses, and I am hoping to raise $5,500 to cover my costs for travel and service.

Serving others has always been close to my heart. I’ve previously donated bone marrow and a kidney to strangers in need, and now I have the opportunity to continue that mission by volunteering with Mercy Ships. In my role, I will be providing essential sterile processing services to support the operating room. Sterile processing is a critical part of any surgical environment, ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized to prevent infections and complications. Without sterile processing, safe surgeries would not be possible. By maintaining the highest standards of sterilization, I will be directly contributing to life-changing procedures such as cleft lip repairs, tumor removals, and orthopedic surgeries that restore mobility and dignity to patients in Madagascar.
