Bringing Christmas Magic To Every Child
Christmas is just a short countdown away, and for most children, it is the most magical time of the year. Sadly, this magic is not experienced by all.
Hi Everybody, my name is Beth, and I am raising money with RJF Construction (NE) Ltd on behalf of The Salvation Army's Christmas Present Appeal, to provide a little bit of joy to the vulnerable and disadvantaged children this Christmas.
A few years ago, I discovered The Salvation Army's Christmas Present Appeal, whose honourable aim is to donate gifts to children who would otherwise wake up on Christmas morning with nothing - No Stockings filled with goodies, No Selection Boxes, No Pyjamas, Absolutely Nothing. These Families are chosen through the help of the social services department, teachers, and other professionals.
All presents are carefully distributed to the many families in need this Christmas. These funds will be used to purchase hand-picked gifts for all age brackets, genders, and needs. This includes:
- 0-3 years: dolls, teddy bears, cot mobiles, baby clothes, bath toys, CDs of suitable music and nursery rhymes, puzzles
- 3-5: dolls and action figures, cars, lorries, DVDs and CDs (music and nursery rhymes), colouring sets, pencils, crayons, books, puzzles
- 5-9: educational games & toys, stationery (colouring sets, pencils, crayons, school sets), books, puzzles, wordsearch, crosswords
- 9-12: games and toys, stationery, DVDs, books, t-shirts, hair accessories, gloves, scarves, hats
- 13-16: books, make-up and toiletries, gloves, scarves, hats, t-shirts, hair accessories and gift vouchers
Every gift is carefully selected to ensure that all children are included, then delivered to our local Salvation Army to be wrapped and distributed in time for Santa's delivery on Christmas Day- so they too can experience the magic.
To give you an idea of the scale: last year, the Salvation Army delivered 68,000 gifts to children all across the UK and Ireland and with each one a message of hope to those experiencing hardship, homelessness or tough times during the holiday season.
The need is ever-growing, and there are many reasons a child might not receive a gift, but they are completely innocent and deserve to feel hope, joy and love this Christmas.
This is where I need your help!
This is our first year contributing to this amazing charity, and we hope to deliver as many gifts as possible.
Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. Just £1 could buy two packs of colouring pens or a pair of fluffy Christmas socks.
I am incredibly grateful for any support you can give, but I know the children who will no longer wake up disappointed on Christmas Day will be forever grateful.
