Bring Christmas Joy to Children in El Rodeo, Guatemala

Hello, my name is Arturo, and I was born and raised in Guatemala — a country where over 60% of people live in poverty and 1 in 2 children suffer from chronic malnutrition.

This Christmas, I’m partnering with the Rotary Club of VH Satélite Uwara to bring hope to El Rodeo, a small village in the Escuintla region. El Rodeo was deeply affected by the 2018 eruption of Volcán de Fuego, which destroyed homes, crops, and left lasting hardship for many families.

During my 10-day visit to Guatemala, we’ll be going to El Rodeo to deliver toys and food to around 200 children and their families — many of whom have never experienced a Christmas celebration.

I have been volunteering here in the U.S., and now I want to give back to my home country this Christmas by spreading joy and hope to those who need it most.
