As a veteran and artist, I know how powerful and healing the act of creating art can be. Over the years, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges of affording supplies and finding spaces to create. That’s why I’m starting this fundraiser—to help bring the catharsis of art to veterans and low-income individuals who might not otherwise have the chance to experience it.
With your support, I’ll be able to purchase essential supplies like iPads, canvases, pens, and paints, and cover the cost of fuel so I can travel and bring art classes directly to those in need. My goal is to remove barriers and make art accessible, meeting people where they are instead of asking them to seek out opportunities that may be out of reach.
I also hope to invite other art teachers and students to join me in teaching, and eventually build a forum where we can talk about the effects of art on PTSD, trauma, and the cathartic release that creation provides. Your generosity will help make this vision a reality, and together we can bring the joy and healing of art to those who need it most.
