Bringing Ancient Knowledge to Montana

My name is Logan Nickel. I'm 32 years old and live in Missoula, MT USA. I’ve been accepted into a workshop to learn shamanism under Kai Uwe Faust, leader of the band Heilung. It’s coming up VERY soon (Midsummer, late June) and I’m going to need a little help to make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity happen.
Since I was very young, I’ve deeply studied and explored spirituality and mysticism. Almost everyone I know is seeking something deeper, longing for a connection that feels lost. Our ancestors had something that modernity has taken from us.
The ancient wisdom we thirst for is still accessible despite the elites’ attempts over thousands of years to control our ties to the divine, despite the Roman eradication of European tribal culture, despite the grinding gears of endless expansion and so-called progress. Most of these skillsets have been co-opted, obfuscated, and corrupted. We strive to rediscover these things and face innumerable challenges in doing so.
I’ve dreamed and pined for the opportunity to learn from people who have experiential knowledge in the Old Ways of healing, balance, and connection. So many things we struggle with could be mitigated with a proper understanding of our relationship with this beautiful, terrible world. I have strived to learn and share as much of this as I can.
This workshop, taking place on an old farm in Norway, is part of a worldwide movement to bring the Animism of our forebearers back into the modern world. To reinterpret and rediscover what has been taken from us and apply it to our lives today. In the core of my being, I know that my role here on Earth is to be a part of this incredible quest. It always has been.
The plane ticket is roughly $2000 and the workshop itself costs about half that. I’m a delivery driver living in Missoula MT, so this isn’t exactly within my budget. I’ve been saving for months in anticipation and have some of it covered already with plans to cover more. But I mathematically can’t do this alone.
The things I’ll learn here won’t just help me, or I wouldn’t ask. It is my fervent belief that I will return from this workshop with skills, knowledge, and understanding which will benefit a great many of us. If you can give even just a small amount, it would mean more to me than I can say. Please consider donating and know in doing so, you are part of the solution to the trials we all face as modern people.
