My name is Christopher and my 3 year old daughter Ayane was retained outside the United States with the intent to obstruct the lawful excercise my parental rights as a father.*
 
In August of 2014 my ex-wife took my daughter with her to her home country of Japan and refused to return. I had filed for divorce and custody In California but was unable to serve her papers as she avoided my process server. She has since filed for divorce and custody in Japan.  Due to its culture, Japan typically by default grants full custody to the mother in divorce and custody cases and fathers end up little to no rights to the child. I also have an actively pending Hague Convention petition for the return of my daughter that I had filed through the US Department of State.

All donations will be used to hire an attorney and to assist in the very complex matter of attempting to secure the safe return of my daughter Ayane to the United States. I am in immediate need of donations as the legal process are moving quickly and I am at a great disadvantage without legal help. 

Being recent veteran I have already missed much of my daughters life while deployed or training since she was born in Oct 2012. I have now not seen my daughter in a year and a half. Please help a loving father show his daughter how much he cares. I will not give up trying to get my daughter back. Your help would would mean more then words could ever possibly describe.

(a) Whoever removes a child from the United States, or attempts to do so, or retains a child (who has been in the United States) outside the United States with intent to obstruct the lawful exercise of parental rights shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 3 years, or both.
