Bring Wycliff Back to Kenya a decade missed

Help Us Bring Wycliff Home After a Decade Apart

This is a story of resilience, hope, and an incredible man who has spent over a decade building a life for his family while sacrificing so much of his own.

Our best friend, Wycliff, came to the U.S. from Mombasa, Kenya, to pursue his education at UW-Stout. He was full of dreams, determined to make a better life for himself and his family. During college, Wycliff made the difficult decision to take one semester off to pay for school instead of burdening his parents back home. But when he went to re-enroll, he was told his student visa had expired. In a single moment, everything he had worked so hard for crumbled.

Wycliff faced the devastating reality that he couldn’t finish his degree. All the sacrifices, his family’s hard-earned money, and their shared dream seemed like they had been for nothing. But instead of giving up, Wycliff started over.

Over the years, he has built a beautiful life despite all the odds. He started a successful contractor business, married the love of his life, bought a home, and became a devoted father to two beautiful daughters. Through it all, he has been the best godfather to our children, the cornerstone of our home renovations, and a man who made our business renovations a reality.

After countless years in the court system, delayed hearings, judges retiring, covid and endless setbacks, Wycliff finally heard the words he’s been praying for: “You can now apply for your green card.”

For the first time in over a decade, Wycliff has hope that he can finally go back to Kenya to see his family. He hasn’t been able to attend weddings, graduations, or funerals. He’s missed moments that cannot be replaced. He hasn’t been able to grieve with loved ones, celebrate milestones, or even meet his nephew.

We want to change that.

Wycliff has given so much of himself to everyone around him, and now it’s our turn to give back. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to help Wycliff and his family travel back to Kenya without the financial stress of balancing business, bills, lawyer fees and travel costs. We want to give him the chance to finally embrace his family after all these years, to reconnect with his roots, and to fulfill a dream he’s waited so long for.

We know most fundraisers are born from tragedy, but this one is about celebrating a dream finally within reach. Let’s make this dream come true for Wycliff.

Any amount helps, and if you can’t donate, a share means the world. Let’s bring him home.

Thank you for your love, support, and kindness.
