Bring Water to Domboshawa, Zimbabwe

We are raising funds to bring running water to the village of Domboshawa, Zimbabwe.

A group of 14 of us recently visited the village of Domboshawa. This village is incredibly special. While the villagers have very little in terms of amenities (no running water, no electricity, etc) they are so incredibly generous and grateful for what they do have. They welcomed us with open arms and we all had an experience of a lifetime…

•We danced and sang to the sound of beautiful African instruments including the mbira, hoshos (shakers) and drums.

•We learned about stories from their village and the history of song and spirit.

•We visited natural standing rock formations, saw baboons in the trees and even had two beautiful eagles fly overhead.

While this village is rich in spirit and joy, we couldn’t help but notice some things that were missing - including running water. The women of the village walk one hour EACH WAY to get water for the day. Little kids as young as five carry giant trunks double their size on their head for creating fire for cooking, in addition to carrying water. All of this is part of how they live daily.

We had such an amazing experience and would love to give back to this land and it’s people while making their lives a little easier.

Please help us to raise funds to install a water well so all of the villagers will have direct access to water on a regular basis.

There are so many things we may take for granted - especially in the western world - and clean, running water is one of them.

This is a chance to make an impact in such a special way and help an entire village (hundreds of people) have access to water directly where they live. Every little bit helps.

We hope to support this village in other ways in the future. Any extra funds will go directly to them to meet their immediate needs. We’ll keep you updated of this projects progress with photos and stories along the way.
