My name is Andrea Woodard, and I’m a teacher at an alternative high school here in Philadelphia that serves students from some of our city’s most underserved neighborhoods. Our school community is low-income, and many of our students face challenges far beyond the classroom, including housing insecurity and limited access to basic winter necessities.
For over ten years now, I have raised funds to help bring a little joy to our community. This year, I’m organizing the Annual Winter Celebration, where every student will receive a small but meaningful gift: a pair of warm gloves, cozy socks, and a hat, along with a shared meal and a few moments of joy and community.
I’m reaching out to ask for your support in making this possible. A small donation can make a big difference:
• $10 provides a student with a new hat.
• $30 helps cover a full winter essentials set for one student.
• Any amount helps bring warmth and dignity to young people who truly need it.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward purchasing winter items and supplies for our celebration.
If you’re able to give or help spread the word, it would mean the world to our students — and to me. Together, we can show them that their community sees and supports them during this season of giving.
Thank you for helping bring warmth and kindness to our school family this holiday season.
