Bring Tina's Mom Home: Need a Bigger Space
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Tina Jones and I am raising money or trying to raise money to move into a bigger apartment/home.
The reason why I need to move is my mother lives with me, my oldest daughter Amanda, and her six-year-old son Kagan. Recently, in July, my mother fell at our current residence and fractured her foot and ankle very badly, requiring pretty major surgery and therefore required a fairly extensive stay in rehab to be able to get back up on her feet. While she was in rehab, her insurance covered everything, and we were able to still continue paying bills at home with her financial obligations. But now her insurance won't cover the rehab stay, so we had to make her a traditional resident of a nursing home until her therapy is completed and she is able to walk again, which the doctor is completely 100% believing that that will happen when she is able to start doing more extensive physical therapy.
During this time, my daughter and I are keeping our apartment afloat, but Mom will not be able to be discharged from the nursing home until we have a home that has more space for her to be able to have all of her medical equipment and be able to move around in a less constrictive manner. I have done everything that I can think of to get this money together, but I am having the hardest time. I don't want to leave my mother in the nursing home; I want her to be able to come home, but she can't come home until we have a bigger place. I have found a place and have been approved, but due to the fact that every bit of my money that I make right now is going into keeping our apartment going, I don't have any extra money at all whatsoever.
Our move-in costs are going to range anywhere from $1,800 to $2,400. That includes first month's rent, security deposit, as well as a rental truck to be able to move Mom's medical equipment that's at home and all of our personal possessions.
Once we are moved in, we can handle the expenses until Mom is discharged because it's an equal amount to what we pay at our apartment right now.
I work and I have a good job. It's just that this was an unexpected situation.
If you can find it in your heart or your budget to help us...I will pay it back or pay it forward...your choice. Also, first and foremost, prayers would be appreciated. God has never let us down.
