Hello Everyone,
My name is Duggan Wendeborn and I am reaching out to via this gofundme page. About a year ago, my two nieces and nephew were removed from their home in Las Vegas due to unforeseen circumstances and are currently in child protective services in Nevada. After 6 months, I was finally able to speak with them, and do so everyday and even got the chance to see them this past weekend.
I can’t bear the thought of them going into the foster care system. So, I decided to fight for their custody and have them live with me in
California.
I have already been approved for placement by the Las Vegas court and child protective services, but now it’s up to me to find the proper home that meets all the state requirements, that includes a room for each child. As their only family member that is available to care for them at this point in time, I am doing everything in my power to make this happen for them. I’ve also recently moved out of my Hollywood home after 10 years into a temporary apartment while I search for the proper home.
We make sure to speak every day by phone and imagine what it would be like when they move in with me. It keeps all of us motivated when we think about our future as a family. The entire process has been difficult on all of us but I know that with patience and positivity, we’ll be reunited soon again.
So what I am asking of you is to please consider donating, even if it’s a just a dollar. Anything will help and I truly mean that. My neices and nephew have been through a lot and I want to make the transition as easy as possible. The money will be used strictly for their expenses . I want to make sure they have all the things they may need .
There are still some hurdles left but we’re hoping the children will be with me by April 2017. I never thought in my wildest dreams that i’d have kids at 45 years of age but I am so thankful that I can be there for them.
I am so ready to share my life with them in this next big chapter.
