Hi Community.
On 7/10 Thursday morning, our world was turned upside down.
Our mother, Telma Gonzalez, and her sister, Yustine Gonzalez, were both detained by ICE during a workplace raid at Glass House Farms in Camarillo, California. These two women are loving sisters, devoted mothers, and hardworking immigrants that have spent more than 20 years of their lives laboring in the United States, building a life for their families and contributing to their communities with quiet, strength, and dignity.
They have no criminal records, no history of violence only a history of sacrifice, hard work, and love.
Telma and Yustine came to this country with the hope of a better future for their children. For decades, they worked long hours on labor-intensive farms, rain or shine, rarely taking a day off. Only recently, due to worsening health conditions, did they transition to a less physically demanding job at Glass House Farms trying to take care of themselves while still putting food on the table for their families.
Now, they are being held in ICE detention centers, separated from their children and the homes they’ve built here.
Our family is devastated.
Their children are scared, confused, and emotionally distraught. Every day feels longer than the last without their mothers’ voices, hugs, and support. We’ve received dozens of calls from family and friends, all heartbroken and asking how they can help. The truth is, we need your help to fight for their release, to pay for legal representation, bond costs, and to ensure they have access to their medication and proper care while in detention.
These are women who have always done right by others. They’ve cared for our families, worked with integrity, and supported our communities in ways that often go unseen.
Now it’s time for us to show up for them.
Please consider donating—no amount is too small. If you can’t give, please share this campaign. Help us bring Telma and Yustine home where they belong—with their children, their family, and their community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
-The Gonzalez Family
