In 1995, the University of Dundee lost its student newspaper, Annasach. For 30 years, campus journalism has been silent. Now, we’re bringing it back.

The Jute Journal is an independent, student-run newspaper with a clear mission: to hold university power to account and give students a platform to tell their stories.

Going forward, we’re aiming to raise £3,000–£5,000. Your support will fund:

Print costs – Because print has power.

Design tools – To create a professional, high-quality paper.

Training & events – Building skills and confidence for student reporters.

Outreach & merchandise – To grow our community on campus.

This is more than just a newspaper. It’s a chance to rebuild a culture of scrutiny, storytelling, and student voice at Dundee.
