BRING SHELBY AND BENJAMIN HOME TO THEIR MOM

Hi friends,

My name is Rachel Chestnut and I am humbly asking for help in bringing my children Shelby and Benjamin back home.

As some of you already know, Shelby (20) and Benjamin (18) were both devastatingly taken from me by my ex-husband several months ago after him choosing to not be in their lives for 3 years prior.

Both of my kids suffer from a rare genetic disorder, AGS, Aicardi-goutieres syndrome) and have severe physical special needs.

When he reappeared wanting to see them again I was nervous but hopeful. I arranged for them to have a few day outings which seemed to go well. He then asked to have them for the weekend. I agreed, taking it as a good sign, but also still nervous, but then thinking, Shelby and Benjamin had appointed me as their Power of Attorney, so what could go wrong?

Now I know, EVERYTHING can go wrong in a heartbeat. Within 24 hours my ex-husband coerced Shelby and Benjamin to sign new paperwork, vacating my POA status and changing it to him. He has essentially cut me out of their lives. I have seen Shelby a handful of times at her school and have seen Benjamin twice, both times while he was hospitalized for surgeries.

In a moment I lost everything. My CHILDREN. My adapted van, generously donated to the kids through my ex mother in laws foundation was taken away from me by her and given to my ex who already has 2 vehicles. I lost the bulk of my income between Shelby and Benjamins SSI payments and child support.

To say it has been devastating to myself and Jordan, their 13 year old sibling is a mind numbing understatement. Our world has been turned upside down and we need your help to fix it.

I need help paying our rent, our utilities and phone bills. I need to purchase a decent, used minivan, and I need to hire an attorney to fight for Shelby and Benjamin to be able to come home to me and Jordan.

I have a hard time asking for help in general, but this is for MY CHILDREN, every dollar helps, along with every prayer and positive thought and sharing our story.
