Bring Scott Farnham's Family Home From Ukraine

Wichita, Kansas, native Scott Farnham, met Ukrainian native Julie while playing team video games in 2020 during the pandemic. Over the next year, Scott and Julie became close and talked daily about their lives, hopes, family and fell in love. In December of 2021, Scott flew to Kyiv, Ukraine, to meet Julie, her mother and her two boys. They took a romantic trip to Paris, where Scott asked Julie to marry him. With the Russian troops staging just outside the Ukrainian border, Scott and Julie pushed up their plans and were married in Ukraine on January 21, 2022.

Scott flew home to Kansas soon afterward, and Julie began getting her passport updated with her new last name. The Ukrainian passport office took Julie's old passport while processing one with her new information during the passport process.

Then Russia began their invasion of Julie's home country of Ukraine, and she fled with her two small sons to Hungary. Scott flew to Hungary to meet Julie and the boys and help her expedite visas, her passport and other essentials in preparation for evacuation to the United States and his home in Wichita. However, without a valid international passport, progress has been stalled.

Scott has enlisted the help of Kansas U.S. Representative Ron Estes and U.S. Kansas Senator Jerry Moran. They are assisting as much as possible through the U.S. Embassy in Budapest, Hungary.

As this is becoming a time-consuming process, Scott's funds for temporary housing, food, travel, etc., are beginning to run out. Therefore, he has sold what business stock he had to help with these costs. In addition, current laws limit the amount of time he can spend in Hungary without additional visas and exceptions. His employer also must limit the amount of time he can stay out of the country due to U.S. tax laws.

His friends and coworkers are asking for your financial assistance to help with what may be extended living expenses for Julie and her boys and, eventually, their need for plane tickets to their new home in Kansas.

Julie's mother has chosen to stay in Ukraine to help fight the Russian invaders and help care for the animals that had to be left behind. Unfortunately, the Russian army has occupied her grandmother's hometown near Kyiv, and they have not heard from her in several days. If you can't assist financially, please pray for them all.
