I am raising funds to support Samuel, one of my Deaf students, whose family is facing an unimaginable hardship.Recently, Samuel’s father was detained by ICE while simply washing his wife’s car in her workplace parking lot. When Samuel received the news at school, he was overwhelmed with grief. He left class in tears and later emailed me because he was too heartbroken to speak.

He wrote:

“Immigration has taken my dad… I’m crying so much. It looks like we can’t do anything to help him.”

At that moment, I promised Samuel I would do everything in my power to help his family—and I am keeping that promise by creating this GoFundMe.

Samuel is currently undergoing ongoing ear surgeries and needs his father by his side during his recovery. His dad has always been deeply involved in Samuel’s education and has been a constant source of love, encouragement, and support. Despite missing school due to surgeries, Samuel has continued to thrive because of the unwavering dedication of both his parents.

Now, Samuel’s mother is carrying the weight of everything—working two jobs while caring for their three children—while desperately trying to reunite their family. Without help, they cannot afford the bond required to bring Samuel’s father home.
