Bring Safety and Joy Back to Mrs. Owens

Hello My name is LaTasha Conway and I'm asking for help for my 77 year old mother. A contractor destroyed her property and ran off with her money ($13,000). The contractor was referred by a lady at my mothers insurance company (StateFarm) so she felt that it was a valid, legitimate company. This was not an insurance claim , but just a referral from an employee of state farm. Her pool was not holding water and one side began to corode and calapse. She hired Lee Parker with Number One Pools Also doing business as Omega Construction and Pools. She had to repaired it because it was causing her utility bill to be too high due to the loss of water and refilling. He gave her a quote of 13,000 but once he took the pool liner out he said he had to replace all of the walls of the pool and then quoted her $30,000. Becauae he was referred by a trusted source, she hired him. Her husband was on his death bed at the time so she wasn't thinking clearly regarding following up with the BBB to ensure his credentials. The contractor promised he would send the requested information but never did. Her pool had brought her and her family so much joy and all she could think about was the happier times. She wanted it fixed. Her husband died, soon afterwards there was the unexpected death of her grandson. This made her even more vulnerable. He assured her he would complete the job to help bring joy back to her and her family. The job was supposed to take 2 weeks but its been a year since the contractor came and bulldozed the pool and didnt come back. He left 6ft piles of concrete and rusted metal in her yard along with a 20x40 ft hole thats 9ft deep. Its now a large mud hole and hasn't to returned after numerous attempts to reach out to him. She is simply devastated. The hole is only 3 ft from her home and she's afraid her house will cave in because if the wet dirt and also afraid someone will fall in and die. She hasn't been able to go in the backyard in a year as she walks with a walker and its a safety hazard. Last summer the mud hole was nothing but a breeding ground for mosquitoes and rodents. It is imperative that she get the hole filled in before something tragic happens. Due to the rain its filled with muddy water. She received a quote of $18,000 from a new contractor to fill the mudhole but cannot afford to pay it because she gave Number One Pools/ Omega Constuction all if her money. She's asking for any help you can give to help her close the mud hole and remove the concrete and metal debris from her yard. All donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
