Dear friends, family and community,
My name is Sandra and I am currently looking for community help to support my Father’s cause. My 66 year old father Rafael was one of the 1,200 taken to and being detained in the Adelanto ICE processing facility. He has been detained since May. My father was brought to California by his parents when he was 15 years old for a better life. He became a resident in 1988. All of our family has long lived in the United States, but due to life’s many unexpected circumstances he has been unable to complete his citizenship process.
Father is and has always been a hardworking man. He admirably worked himself from restaurant work to putting himself through school to become a substance abuse counselor, despite all the adversities he encountered in life. He is a good father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather, friend, citizen, and most importantly a Christian man. He is also an upstanding citizen and he spreads his gospel preaching at his church congregation and anywhere else opportunity permits. He is a respectable substance abuse counselor which makes him a vital part of the fabric of our community in aiding those who suffer from the substance abuse illness. His life is his family, god and his work. Most importantly his removal has left a family without their head of household. He is the sole breadwinner and provider for his family. He has a wife and an underage son that is in an extremely important and formative stage of his life.
I am setting up a collection of funds to help us. These funds will provide us help for his household (wife & son) and legal fees during these hard times. We understand that life is so difficult right now, but anything helps. No amount is too small. Even a small prayer for him and our undocumented community, who are going through a hard time these days, would be appreciated. We appreciate it so much, and our family will forever be grateful to you all! Please help get my father home!
